Weather Report – 5/3/19

Good Morning.
Another beautiful day yesterday with more great weather for Friday and Saturday.

We will continue to be under a Ridge of High pressure for the next couple of days. Temperatures will remain in the 60s with light and variable winds. The Valley may see morning Fog tomorrow and Saturday but currently, it’s clear across the IE.

A Cutoff Low to our West will arrive along the SoCal region on Sunday. This will bring increasing fog and low clouds with a chance for rain Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning. The area of Low Pressure will bring much cooler temperatures when it arrives to all of the mountain locations and possibly a few snow showers to the higher elevations, around the 7000′ level. Gusty winds will accompany this system as it moves through also bringing a chance for an occasional Thunderstorm as well.

The center of the Low is expected to bobble around then pass over SoCal Monday or Tuesday, so we could see a variety of weather from this system.

Wednesday we will be in between systems with gusty winds and partly cloudy skies. Another area of Low pressure is expected Thursday, this is a Continental based Low and will bring more cold air with it as it moves through the Great Basin into the SoCal area. Being a Continental based system (inside slider) it will not have much moisture but it will be cold. So there will be another chance for local snow showers above the 6500′ level Thursday and Friday as it looks this morning.

So overall, after a nice start to the weekend, unsettled weather will return for Sunday through most of next week.
As these systems get closer I will have daily updates as always. Also, on Facebook, lake gregory weather group, I will post current local radar loops, and storm weather updates as needed. So be sure to check that for the latest local information on T-Storms and more.

Have a great day and week ahead. That’s it for today. Thank you for joining me @ lakegregoryweather.com
