Good Morning. Ahhh, fresh percolator brewed coffee!!

WIND ADVISORY, CLICK HERE
This morning, we have high based clouds over most of SoCal. There is some patchy Fog in the Valleys out toward Riverside, and San Diego, but it is mostly disrupted by the high clouds from becoming widespread.

Today, onshore flow will strengthen as an area of Low pressure moves Inland to our North. Currently offshore, we have High pressure this morning, creating an onshore pressure gradient of around 5mbs this morning from the Coast, to the Desert areas. High clouds, and cooler temperatures can be expected today as a weak, short wave moves across the area. The Trough Axis will move through around 5pm tonight. Increasing clouds, fog, and a chance for scattered showers will be possible through Wednesday morning. Rainfall totals if any will be under .25″ locally. The freezing level will remain above 8000′.

Wednesday through Thursday morning, a Ridge of High pressure will build over SoCal. This will bring clearing skies with gusty SW winds and continued cool temperatures.

Thursday pm through Friday morning, the trailing end of a Trough to our North, will pass through the area. As it does, we will again have a chance for scattered showers across the local area. Clouds and Fog will again be on the increase as the humidity increases along with gusty winds. Rainfall amounts will be under .25″ locally, with high elevation freezing levels around 7500-8000′.

Friday another Ridge will develop locally bringing in mostly clear skies and cool temperature with gusty onshore winds.

On the longer range outlook, Saturday, another weak Trough will move through then clearing for Sunday through Tuesday. At this time, Wednesday of next week may bring a decent chance for showers to the SoCal region. But as you know, this is too far out to be sure of anything, just FYI.

So in recap, we will have clouds on and off through the weekend with a couple chances for showers locally. Gusty winds from the SW will remain in the forecast as well. Temperatures will be cooler overall through the period.
