Weather Report – 3/30/19

Courtesty of LakeGregoryWeather.com

Good Morning.
Today through Monday as we wrap up March, we will have very nice weather for the Mountains. Gusty North East winds, clear skies, and warmer temperatures will be the local Forecast.

For the next couple of days, an area of High pressure will build to around 1035mbs, centered over Northern Utah and Idaho. This will produce gusty NE winds at times across the mountains of SoCal. The NE winds should peak Sunday morning then begin to taper off after that time. Temperatures will warm through Monday, with Monday being the warmest day for our area.

Currently across the mountain NE winds are running from 5-10mph at most locations. The exception is Paivika Ridge on Playground drive in Crestline, which has NE winds from 15-35mph this morning.

By Tuesday morning, the area of High pressure to our North will move East. As it does, an Inside slider @ 999mbs will move South along an Inland route along the Nevada Border with California. This will bring back an Onshore flow with gusty SW winds, increasing clouds, and a slight 20% chance for a shower locally through Wednesday morning. Fog and low clouds will be in the Forecast for those days. Thursday and Friday should bring back nice weather to the area. Then for the weekend, it looks like the West Coast will back in the Pacific storm track for a few days, however, at this time it looks like we will remain on the bottom end of the series of storms.

As it looks this morning, these storms will likely peter out around Santa Barbara or Ventura. There is a chance that a couple of Troughs could make it this far South, but that’s just too far out in crystal ball land to be sure of anything at this time. Hmmmm? Daffodils blooming, Snow?? April? we’ll see. *RC
