On Wednesday July 31, 2019 at approximately 1:42 p.m., calls were received by 911 operators about a fire near Redwood Way and Log Road in Valley of Enchantment.

Driving to the scene, we could smell smoke and see ash in the air. The location was in the forested area between Redwood Way, Balsam Lane, and Seeley Way. Responding were crews from San Bernardino County Fire, Cal Fire, and US Forest Service Fire. Several water drops were conducted, and several Pilot Rock hand crews were on scene. Plumes of smoke were seen across Crestline.

At around 3:30 p.m., the Incident Commander stated that the fire was at approximately one acre. Fire fighters had a line around the fire, and once it was contained, they went into the mop-up stage at that time.
