Fire Crews Descend on Blaze in Holcomb Valley from the Ground and from the Air

On Wednesday, July 31st at 2:45 pm, a brush fire was reported to 911 dispatchers. The location given was on Forest Service Road 3N10 in Holcomb Valley, north of the Big Bear Valley. A multi agency response was requested.

Air support arrived on scene first overhead and confirmed smoke showing in moderate brush. The US Forest Service was the lead agency what would be dubbed the Bull Fire. Initial units arriving on scene reported the fire at 1/4 acre with a slow rate of spread. Air drops were made and hand crews and engines were sent in. additional agencies working the fire included Big Bear fire department, San Bernardino County Fire and Cal Fire.

The fire was contained quickly but units remained on scene clearing brush and hitting hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation, reportedly under suspicious circumstances.
