TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
Forecast Trends: Continued very warm temperatures through the Holiday weekend. Chance for thunderstorms Sunday through Thursday as High pressure relocates over the Four Corners region.
.. For today, High pressure over SoCal will remain the dominant weather feature for today and tomorrow. Temperatures will be in the 80s across the mountains with mostly clear skies. Sunday through mid week next week, Humidity levels will be on the rise as Monsoonal Moisture moves over the area.
..Late Saturday, or by Sunday morning, the area of High pressure that is now over SoCal will rapidly move East, relocating over the four corners Region. As it does, this will open the door for Monsoonal Moisture to flow into the Southwestern parts of SoCal.
..Monsoonal Moisture will become entrained in the upper level flow around the High over the four corners States and be directed into our area Sunday through Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Precipital Water (PWAT) levels will be from 1.30″-1.50″ through the period. CAPE values won’t be very high so I will go with 20-40% chance for Thunderstorms through the period. Any Thunderstorms that do develop should have rain associated with it. If you area outside, be aware of your surroundings as the weather can change rapidly. As always with these storms, heavy rain could accompany these storms causing Flash Flooding.
..Big Bear, Green Valley Lake, Running Springs and the Lower Deserts will see the best chances for T/Storm activity. Cumulus, or Towering Cumulus clouds will begin to develop by Sunday afternoon, and each day thereafter through Thursday. There are signs of a Trough passing through Monday, so our best chances for T-Storms will likely be around that time.
..As the humidity levels rise beginning Sunday, this will help to moderate the daytime high temperatures. So we should see a slight cooling trend for the beginning of the week next week. Additionally as the clouds build in the afternoon, this will also help to moderate the peak daytime heating as well.
..On the long range outlook, after the Monsoonal Moisture weakens late next week, a couple of Troughs will pass through the PAC-NW. This should bring in much cooler weather here. *RC
