Weather Report – 4/22/19

Good Morning.
I hope everyone had a nice Easter Sunday yesterday.

Today we will start the day with clear skies and no Fog along the Rim so far as of 5am. Temperatures for the area will be warming up today, and through the week, as High pressure builds across the region from the West. However, before we get to excited, there is one last dying swath of energy that will come through late this afternoon. Depending on how much heating we get today, we could see a weak band of showers or a Thunderstorm pass through around 4pm today. The Western edge of the Low pressure that has brought the cooling to the area over the weekend, will pass through late today. This will bring a chance for a shower or at least increasing clouds for the afternoon hours today. This will pass quickly and be gone by later tonight.

Tuesday through Saturday, clear skies and much warmer temperatures will be the Forecast for all of SoCal except the immediate Coastal areas where fog and low clouds will likely remain through the period helping to keep temperatures there cool. Locally, we will have a North East flow across the area through Tuesday then slowly becoming SW through the rest of the work week. Temperatures for the local areas will rise to the upper 60s above the 6300′ level and to the low 70s from the 4000-6000′ level.

Now for the Crystal Ball Outlook, Next Friday an area of Low pressure will begin to affect the area. Temperatures will begin to cool as the Low approaches with winds increasing from the SW. By Saturday we will have increasing clouds and a chance for a rain shower by Sunday and or Monday. Then for mid week after that, another better chance as it looks this morning for the area as another deeper Low is on the long range outlook. So as we transition to warmer and more Spring or Summer like weather, we will still have a chance for random systems to make their way South to our area. The Dogwood trees have not bloomed yet which is a good sign that we are not done with Winter just yet.

That’s it for today. Thank you for joining me @ lakegregoryweather.com
