Weather Report – 4/15/19

Good Morning. WX ALERT
Today we will start the day with mostly clear skies along with increasing SW winds as a Trough of Low pressure moves toward the area. By tonight, we will have increasing clouds, Fog along the Rim and a chance for a few light showers through Tuesday afternoon. This is from an area of Low pressure that will pass over the Inland areas of SoCal over the next 24hours.

Light rain showers along with possible snow showers above the 6300′- 6500′ level will be the forecast through Tuesday afternoon. The main body of the Trough will pass through our area during the early afternoon. This is when the best dynamics for rain/snow will be upon us. There is a low amount of CAPE and LI at this time, but if things change a little there could be a chance for a Thunderstorm or two in the afternoon hours. Rainfall totals will be under .30″ locally with the greatest amounts along the Rim. So for tomorrow morning, expect wet roads along with Ridge Fog for the morning commute.

By Tuesday evening, clearing skies will begin as the Trough moves East of the SoCal region. Temperatures will be on the rise for Wednesday through Friday for all of SoCal however, locally, NE winds will be in the local forecast for Wednesday as the pressure over the Great Basin builds which will slow the warming for the mountains.

Thursday and Friday will be our warmest days with highs reaching into the upper 60s to low 70s.

Saturday and Sunday look a little iffy at the moment as a Sub-Tropical Low may move in from the West. Then right behind that is a Trough of Low pressure that will slide in from the Pacific Northwest. Currently, neither of these look to promising as far as rain goes but this is Spring, so they both bear watching for quick changes in structure and dynamics.

That’s it for today. Thank you for joining me @ lakegregoryweather.com
