TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
Today we will have high clouds again for most of the day. Temperatures will be a little cooler as we transition to a wet pattern for the next several days. Weak onshore flow has brought fog and low clouds to the coastal areas this morning and into some of the Valleys.
…Thursday will be a wet day across most of SoCal as the first system works its way across SoCal. Snow levels will remain above the 6600′ level for this storm however, Thunderstorms may develop between 10am and 4pm which can produce much lower elevation hail/snow as low as the 4500′ at times. There will be a period of heavy rain push through as the center of the low passes over the area. Rainfall amounts from this system is from 1.00-1.50″. So as always be prepared for possible water flow and or debris on the local roads. Road Maintenance crews will be out so use caution around their vehicles and personnel.
…Friday we will be in between systems. Partly Cloudy skies will be likely with gusty winds as we slowly clear out.
…Saturday’s storm looks like the strongest system of this series. Rain will begin early, increasing in intensity throughout the day. The snow levels will start out pretty high at around 6500′-7000′. then as the system works through the snow levels will lower to around the 4500′ level toward the end of this system late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Running Springs may see from 1-3″ of snow, Big Bear could get up to 3-6″. Rainfall/melted snow amounts are expected to run from 3-5″ overall for the mountain areas.
… The last storm will be the coldest with snow likely to the 4500′ level Monday. More on that later.
..On the long range Crystal Ball outlook for february, overall it looks like wet weather will be the norm through the month. RC
