TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:
Good Morning
Here is a link to a wind chill chart conversion table. CLICK HERE
Back to work day. Today we will have decreasing winds as High pressure rebuilds into the Eastern Pacific, and SoCal. Clear skies and slightly warmer temperatures will be the days forecast. Gusty winds will still be in the Canyons and along the Ridges, but will taper off by tonight. So if you are driving a High profile vehicle use caution. The NWS has a Wind Advisory in effect until 2pm today for the mountains. Thursday will be another nice day locally however the area of High pressure to our West will begin to break down. An area of Low pressure will move into the PAC-NW bringing showers and snow to that area by Thursday pm or Friday am. High pressure over the Pacific will collapse by Friday allowing a Trough to slide South along the Coast of SoCal. Friday will be a transitional day with increasing clouds late in the day and possibly Fog along the Rim Friday night. Saturday and Sunday will be cool and cloudy with rain showers below 5500-6000′ The snow levels with this next system will be a little higher than the last couple we have seen running around the 6000-6500′ level locally. Pockets of cold air may bring the snow levels lower at times so be prepared for the possibility of snow/sleet to around the 5500′ level over the weekend. Preliminary rainfall totals are around .70″ for this next system. As for the AR enhancement, it doesn’t look like it will make it for this system but possibly for the next system later next week. Monday and Tuesday of next week look good for now then another possibly wetter system will arrive late next week.
That’s it for now. Have a great day and thanks for joining me @ www.lakegregoryweather.com , Oh, and be sure to check out the website for live webcams from around the area, and my weather station at the South side of lake Gregory, and much more weather stuff. RC
