These pinwheel steaks are a colorful and delicious addition to any dinner. They may look like they took all day to make, but they are actually pretty easy! It’s as simple as layer, roll, and cook.

You can save some time by buying the proper ingredients. Get a jar of pre-sliced roasted red peppers, and buy the pre-washed, ready to eat bags of spinach. To avoid spending all day pounding out the beef, I would recommend purchasing a thin-cut meat at the market; a thin sirloin steak, or any steak sold for the purpose of making Milanese.

Pinwheel Steak Florets Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb. thin-sliced beef – pounded to 1/8 inch

6 oz. roasted red peppers – cut into strips

6 slices Havarti cheese

2 cups baby spinach leaves

2 tbsp. butter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°.

Lay the beef between two sheets of plastic wrap and use a meat mallet or heavy skillet to pound the meat until it reaches 1/8-inch thickness. If necessary, cut the meat to make strips about 10 inches long and 4 inches wide.

Place a layer of Havarti cheese on each strip of meat, then follow with a layer of roasted red peppers, then a layer of spinach leaves.

Roll the up the beef and secure with toothpicks.

Heat an oven-safe skillet over high heat, then melt the butter. Sear the beef rolls on all sides, then transfer the skillet into the oven. Cook for 10 minutes, or until the beef reaches an internal temperature of 145°. Rest for 5 minutes. Remove the toothpicks before serving.
