Nine Year Old Transported to the Hospital after Vehicle Flips on Ice in Big Bear

At 8:22 a.m. on February 1st 2019 a call went into emergency service dispatchers of a solo vehicle rollover on Highway 38 and Division Drive in Big Bear City.

Crews from Fire Station 281 arrived on scene and found two patients in the overturned vehicle. After assisting the victims exit the vehicle, a 9 year old male was transported to a local hosptial for observation.

The white Chevy Blazer they were traveling in was going west bound 38 when the driver reportedly hit ice, over corrected and flipped on the right side shoulder. Two good samaritans directed traffic while California Highway Patrol investigated. Big Bear Towing arrived on scene to recover the vehicle. Ice is still present in the area. Proceed with caution. The roadway is open at this time.
