A two car accident occurred on Lake Drive in front of Arrowhead Credit Union on Thursday Afternoon.

Medic Engine 25 and Medic Ambulance 25 arrived on scene first to find a blue Ford Focus with heavy front end damage that had crashed into a Subaru SUV.

According to bystander statements at the scene, the blue Ford Focus was traveling southbound on Springwater Drive. It reportedly crashed into the Subaru which was traveling westbound on Lake Drive. According to witnesses, the Ford Focus allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign.

Traffic was backed up in both directions on Lake Drive as the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department managed the scene. Westbound traffic was diverted on to Springwater Drive during part of the accident investigation. The California Highway Patrol was on an extended ETA due to multiple accidents working across the mountain at the same time.

Minor injuries were reported at the scene but neither party was transported to the hospital. By 5:20 p.m. both lanes of traffic had been cleared and reopened. Mountain Auto Service was on scene to remove the vehicles. The official cause of the accident remains under investigation.

  1. This accident report is based on either false or onesided information. The driver of the blue Ford focus stated that she stopped at the stop sign and there was a dark colored pickup truck parked on the corner of the intersection blocking the view to the left. She could not see around the truck and inched her way forward. After thinking that it was safe to pull out and make her turn, the other vehicle that was involved in the accident came around the truck. After panicking to avoid the other car, the driver of the Blue Ford focus slammed on the brakes. As a side note to those who posted this accident on the web, don’t post unless you have both side on the incident.
