Big Bear Lake:

Trout bite has been good. The hot spot is by the dam along the west shore. Inflated nightcrawlers and cheese power bait on a Carolina rig with 4′ leader is the rig of choice. Early morning at the crack of dawn is the best time to get them.
Ultimate Trout Derby will be held this weekend Saturday May 18th – 19th in Halloway Marina.

Green Valley Lake:

Following the recent CDFW trout stock a few weeks ago the bite has been good. With a few nice healthy hold over trout surfacing from last seasons stock. Inflated nightcrawlers, Rainbow garlic power bait, mini jigs and spinners has been the baits of choice. Early morning or early evening has been the best times. Across from boat rentals on the point and next to dam are the hot spots. Green Valley Lake is officially opening Memorial weekend and is expecting a fresh stock of rainbow trout before then.

Arrowbear Lake:

The trout bite was good a few weeks ago. Recently it has slowed down alot. But Arrowbear is expecting another CDFW stock of rainbow trout the week of 5/19 – 5/25.

Lake Gregory:

Following the recent trout stock from CDFW a few weeks ago the bite has been great along the south shore and baseball field cove. Orange and pink Berkley micetails, Salmon egg and garlic power bait on a Carolina rig with 3’ft leader is the rig of choice for bait and wait. Mini jigs and rooster tail spinners have also been producing. Best times to fish are early morning and early evening.
Lake Gregory May Trout Derby is this weekend May 18th and will be stocked with healthy trout from Jess Ranch Hatchery.

Silverwood Lake:

Trout and crappie bite has been great. Fishing off the marina dock and the rocks on either side of the docks have been the hot spots. Mini jigs and drop shot nightcrawlers have been working well. Best times to fish would be early morning.
