TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
..After a long and dry Summer, things are really beginning to change as we start off the Fall season.
..This morning an area of Low pressure is passing through, and will become a stationary Cut-Off Low just South of SoCal, over Northern Baja. Initially, this will bring a dry, NE flow, across the area. Then by tomorrow, Tropical moisture will become entrained in the flow and we will have a chance for a shower, and or a Thunderstorm, across the Deserts, and Big Bear area. For the Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs and Crestline areas, we may also have a shot at some showers if all of this moves just a pinch further to the West.
.. By Wednesday night, the Cut-Off Low will bobble around enough to the West, to bring in a pretty good chance for some measurable rain and or Thunderstorms to all of the mountain areas and possibly to San Bernardino as well.
..Thursday, during the morning hours, we will still have a good chance for showers into the early afternoon. Then the Low will begin to move out toward the East as it becomes reconnected with the Jet Stream, and takes the moisture with it.
..But, were not done yet!
..Friday will be a break in the action as a weak and quick moving Ridge moves through. This will bring in gusty SW winds from 15-40mph in the wind prone areas ahead of the next stronger system for Saturday and Sunday.
..Saturday and Sunday, a deep Trough will move into the West bringing in colder temperatures (10-15* below normal) along with strong and gusty winds. Additionally, we will have a pretty good chance for more measurable rain showers across the area. Rainfall totals through all of these rain days will be under .50″, but it’s better than nothing. AS ALWAYS, I will be posting live RADAR and Lightning reports as needed for our local area on my FB page, Lake Gregory Weather Group throughout the period.
..That’s it for now! Have a good day and enjoy the changing season. *RC
