TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
..Today there will be the Jamboree Day Parade and Fireworks at 9pm at Lake Gregory. NO PERSONAL FIREWORKS ARE ALLOWED!
..Last evening we had a strong Earthquake as most of us felt, now is a good time to think about your “Bug out Bag”. This is a good idea for Fire season, as well as any other potential Disasters such as Earthquakes.
..The weather today will be perfect for the outdoor activities, be sure to have sunscreen available.
..High temperatures today will range from the mid 70s to 80* locally. Skies will be mostly clear except for some High clouds later today. Winds will be light and variable. Tonight’s Temperatures for the Fireworks will be in the mid to upper 60s.
..We will continue to have mild temperatures through Monday as the bottom of a medium wave Trough that has sa over the West finally moves through.
..Tuesday, we will begin to warm up as High pressure will begin to build into the Region. This will bring in much warmer temperatures along with increasing Humidity through the work week ahead. By Friday, Monsoonal Moisture will begin to move into the Desert areas out toward the Colorado River with Thunderstorms developing there. Here we will see a slight chance for Thunderstorms over the Big Bear areas by Saturday. The Trough that has kept us in a cool weather pattern will move East Monday, and High pressure will move over the Four Corners area of the Country. This will be the pattern for the next week or so which will bring in the weather change to our area in the form of warmer weather locally.
..To our South, Hurricane Barbara is weakening and will be a Tropical Storm by this afternoon. The next system to develop, Cosme, will become a Tropical Storm later today or tomorrow and a Hurricane soon thereafter. The Track of Cosme looks like it will be a little more Northerly so we may see some remnant moisture next week from that.
..That’s it for now! Be sure to check on the Lake Gregory Weather Group, facebook page, for any radar loops or storm updates as needed.
Thank you. RC @ www.lakegregoryweather.com

..As we head into Fire Season please use caution in all mountain areas. Also I will begin today posting the Fire Danger levels on the bottom of this page also check the wx alerts page for an in depth look at the local fire weather..(Website)

..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.

..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for the Latest on El Nino, live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake.
