Motorcycle Rider Transported with Injuries After Striking the Guardrail on Hwy 18

At 7:28 p.m., a solo motocycle accident occurred on Highway 18 at mile marker 59, an area known as Johnson’s Grade in Big Bear City. A motocycle rider was traveling downbound on Highway 18 when he lost control and collided with the guardrail. Mulitple good Samaritans stopped at the scene and assisted the rider until first responders arrived on scene. Medic Ambulance 282 – Big Bear City transported the rider to the hospital in unknown condition. Highway 18 was temporarily down to one lane and traffic was alternated for approximately 20 minutes. A-Performance Tow recovered the motorcycle. California Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.
