Jamboree Days Volunteers Get Free T-shirts, Lunch, and a Day at Lake Gregory

At the Public Meeting last night, the Crestline Chamber Board organizing Jamboree Days this year, noted a need for more volunteers.

Espie, from Cakes by Espie addressed those in attendance, “There are 2 hour volunteer spaces still open for Jam Days on June 30th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Especially needed right now are people to help with the road closures manning the barricades. This makes the parade possible. Additionally, volunteers are need for 2 hour slots to help with the Vendor Fair portion. Finally, clean-up crews are needed for afterwards. Goodwin’s Market is donating lunch in the way of a sandwich and soda, the Crestline Chamber is providing T-shirts for all volunteers, and Lake Gregory Regional Park is offering a free beach day access pass for volunteers.”

Jamboree Days is the Crestline Celebration of Independence Day. This year marks the 53rd annual celebration. Starting in the 1960s as Crestline Days, then in the 1970s as Mountaineers Days, this celebration usually involved BBQ’s, a town picnic and family style celebratory competitions.

This year, the theme of the Parade is “Freedom Rings in Crestline” and sets off at 10am.  Immediately following the parade, Lake Drive will be closed from Arrowhead Credit Union to Forest Shade Road for the Jamboree Days Town Festival.  The day includes an all-day artisan fair, food trucks, a beer garden, live music with Juliet Roberts and Whiskey Sunday, a Fun Zone with nerf battles and carnival games, photo booth with Smokey Bear, check out the fire trucks and meet County Fire and Cal Fire, meet the Sheriffs and CHP, and so much more!

A Fireworks Pre-show concert, free to the public, starts at Lake Gregory when the beaches will be open to the public at or around 6:30. Enjoy live bands including Ha Ha Halfway, Dubious Distinction, solo artists Dan “The Ukulele Man” and Peter J Dykeman Sr., a world renown Neil Diamond Impersonator and presentations from the Cub, Girls and Boy Scouts on the mountain as well as Mountain Fifes and Drums.

Volunteer spots can be filled by contacting the Crestline Chamber of Commerce at (909) 338-2706 or sign up by clicking here.  The Crestline Chamber of Commerce wants to thank Crestliners as a community in advance for coming together to help continue a town tradition for families to enjoy everywhere.
