Sterling Fire Continues to Burn Overnight in San Bernardino

At 5:45 pm, emergency crews were dispatched to multiple reports of a vegetation fire. The reports indicated that the blaze had started near North Sterling Ave, above Foothill Dr. E.

San Bernardino County Fire, Cal Fire and US Forest Service fire quickly arrived and were under unified command. Aircraft also arrived on scene with fixed and rotary wing units making aggressive drops. At 7:00 pm, most aircraft were down for the night while night operation air units remained on scene. As of midnight, the fire was estimated at 125 acres. No injuries have been reported as of yet. No structures have been threatened and there are no evacuations at this time. Officials expect 100% containment within a day or two. At the time of this report, fire behavior was minor and there was approximately 150 firefighters working the blaze with dozers on scene as well.
