Weekly Fishing Report – 8/16/19

The Mountain Reporter Fishing Report covers Big Bear Lake, Green Valley Lake, Arrowbear Lake, Lake Silverwood and Lake Gregory with a weekly report covering baits, fishing spots and other tips you will need to know to give you the best advantage for your fishing trip.

Local Lake Reports

Big Bear Lake:

Trout fishing still decent despite the warmer weather. Boat anglers have been doing well trolling lures or using slip bobbers with nightcrawlers or power bait on Carolina rigs with light line. Trout are holding between the 15 ft. – 25 ft. depth. Shore anglers have also been getting bit west of red house towards dam or at the mouths of boulder and papoose. Early morning or early evening is the best times to fish.

Green Valley Lake:

GVL just stocked 700 lbs. of rainbow trout + 100 lbs. of trophy trout on August 15th. Trout fishing has been decent. This week a nice 3 lb. rainbow trout was caught. Hot spots are going be both sides of dam and fisherman’s point. Berkley micetails, nightcrawlers and power bait on Carolina rig will get you bit. Early morning or early evening is the best times to fish.

Arrowbear Lake:

No Reports.

Lake Gregory:

Trout bite has slowed down lately. No reports of recent stock. A few anglers have been hooking up in Baseball field cove and in front of restrooms in Trout cove. Trout have been a little on the small side. Berkley micetails and inflated nightcrawlers on Carolina rig have been the baits and rig of choice. Early morning is the best time to fish.

Silverwood Lake:

No Reports.
