Been a consistent bite going on at Big Bear Lake. Plus Big Bear stocked more trout this week.Boat anglers have been doing well trolling lures or using slip bobber with nightcrawlers at different depths. Shore anglers are also hooking up along the North shore and by Observatory using inflated nightcrawlers and Power bait on Carolina rig with long leaders. Early morning or early evening is the best times to fish.

Green Valley Lake:

Trout bite has been excellent. Plus GVL just received a fresh stock of 1200lbs of rainbow trout on Wednesday July 3rd. Anglers have been having luck along the South shore and on both points. Mini jigs, Inflated nightcrawlers and Berkley micetails seems to be the ticket. Early morning is the best time to fish.

Lake Gregory:

Decent bite still going off at Gregory. Anglers have been doing well in front of senior center in baseball field cove or by dam. Mini jigs and spinners have been working well. For bait and wait try using Berkley orange micetails on Carolina rig. Early morning or evening is the best times to fish.

Silverwood Lake:

Kid’s Corner – Fishing Joke of the Week:

Question:

Where does a fish keep his money?

(Answer below)

WEEKLY RIG: Double Drop Shot

Double drop shot is a rig using 2 hooks tied directly to your line using palomar knots with hooks facing up. With tag end on bottom below the hooks with weight attached. This rig gives you an advantage of finding what depth the fish are holding. Plus you now have 2 baits at different depths doubling your chance of hooking up. You can cast out and work the rig back slowly while bouncing your rod tip. Or you can “Dead stick” meaning just let it sit.

Good luck this week folks, see you again next week!
