Weekly Fishing Report – 7/26/19

This week’s fishing report is sponsored by Lake Gregory Recreation

The Mountain Reporter Fishing Report covers Big Bear Lake, Green Valley Lake, Arrowbear Lake, Lake Silverwood and Lake Gregory with a weekly report covering baits, fishing spots and other tips you will need to know to give you the best advantage for your fishing trip.

Local Lake Reports

Big Bear Lake:

Trout fishing has been excellent. Boat and shore anglers have been doing well landing some decent size fish. Power worms, power bait and nightcrawlers on Carolina rig with long leader or slip bobbers have been getting it done. Both sides of dam have been producing. Early morning or early evening is your best bet.

Green Valley Lake:

Trout are still being caught on both sides of dam in the early morning and early evening. Pink and white mice tails on Carolina rig have been getting bit as well as good old nightcrawlers. Cdfw is scheduled to stock this week. Should be good fishing this weekend.

Arrowbear Lake:

No reports but Cdfw is scheduled to stock this week. Just in time for the weekend.

Lake Gregory:

Trout have been active. Shore anglers have been doing well in Trout cove along the north shore. Baseball field cove in front of field and San Moritz lodge has been producing as well. Mini jigs, power bait and micetails are the ticket. Bite seems to be good in the early morning. Cdfw is scheduled to stock this week. Stock should be in by this weekend. Lake Gregory also is offering an Early Bird special on motor boats. Thursday – Monday from 7am – 9am. Only $40 for a 4hr rental.

Silverwood Lake:

Striper and catfish are still being caught on the marina dock on cut bait and scented nightcrawlers in the early morning. Algea bloom has made the water unsafe. Avoid eating any fish from Silverwood for awhile.

Catch of the Week

This weeks catch of the week is Alijah Gonzales (age 12) with a nice rainbow trout caught at Lake Gregory in front of San Moritz lodge on a pink and white Drew’s Custom Baits mini jig.
