This week’s fishing report is sponsored by Goodwin’s Market and Mountain Top Producers Realty

The Mountain Reporter fishing report covers Big Bear Lake, Green Valley Lake, Arrowbear Lake, Lake Silverwood and Lake Gregory with a weekly report covering baits, fishing spots and other tips you will need to know to give you the best advantage for your fishing trip.

Local Lake Reports

BIG BEAR LAKE:

Trout bite has picked back up with the recent good weather they are ready to bite. Along the North shore and by dam are the hot spots. In the early morning a shorter leader on a Carolina rig with rainbow garlic or red power bait has been working well casted in close to shore. As the sun rises a longer leader on same set up casted out past the grass lines is your best bet.

GREEN VALLEY LAKE:

Green Valley trout fishing has been excellent. With recent stock of 450lbs of rainbow trout from Jess Ranch on May 30th 2019 anglers should have no problem hooking up. A few double digit trophy trout have been catch recently as well. Next to dam or any of the points have been productive. Mini jigs spoons and spinners are the go to lures. Early morning and early evening are best times to fish.

ARROWBEAR LAKE:

Arrowbear Lake trout fishing has been great. Following recent CDFW trout stock for the Kids Fishing Derby held last weekend 5/25. The trout are a little on the small side but are eager to bite. Gold kastmasters, jigs and power bait are the lures and baits to use. Early morning is your best bet.

LAKE GREGORY:

Trout fishing is still decent. Anglers have been doing well in front of senior center, baseball cove and trout cove. Early morning and early evening are your best times to fish. Gold Thomas Boyaunt spoons, jigs and orange micetails have been working well.

CATCH OF THE WEEK:

This weeks catch of the week: Junior Mountain Top Anglers member Houston Godwin who took 1st place in his age bracket at the Arrowbear Kids Derby. Congratulations lil dude.

Kids Corner Fishing Joke of the Week

Question: Why do fish swim in schools?

(Answer below)

WEEKLY RIG: INLINE SPINNER

Inline spinner is a lure with a spinning blade attached to cause vibration and flash on the retrieve. Cast out and reel in it’s that easy.

Good luck this week folks, see you again next week!
