TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
Trends for today. We will have mostly clear skies with some afternoon Towering Cumulus. Temperatures will begin to cool slightly today and through the weekend.
..Thunderstorms moved through the Eastern part of the mountains yesterday bringing .55″ of rain to the Big Bear area before moving out to the East.
..The air mass over SoCal will begin to dry out today as the Monsoonal Moisture flow moves out. High pressure over the Four Corners States will begin to weaken and move East today as a trough of Low pressure moves into the West Coast. This will bring in a much anticipated cooling trend to SoCal, and to the local mountains.
..The first of a series of Troughs will arrive Saturday pm. Cooling will be noticeable by Saturday night and for Sunday. Then a second Trough will move through on Monday night and hang around through Wednesday before it clears out to the East. These troughs will be dry in SoCal with no rain. However, there will be an increase in the Marine layer and morning fog in the lowlands.
..Then an area of High pressure to our South at that time, will expand North into SoCal, with a warming trend lasting through Sunday. Temperatures will warm up as a 588dm Ridge builds over SoCal and the West.
..Long Range outlook. Another Trough will move through the flow after next weekend. This will bring in another cooling trend to the area with the possibility of much cooler temperatures. Signaling the onset of FALL.
..No Thunderstorms are expected today for our local mountains.
..The RED CROSS and other organizations are taking donations to help with the relief efforts. https://bahamasredcross.org/bahamas-red-cross-society-hurricane-dorian-assitance-helpushelp/
