TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
..Today will start out about the same as yesterday. Warm but less wind.
..An area of Low pressure now located to our South over Northern Baja California, will begin to lift slowly North. As it does, Tropical moisture from the Sonoran Desert of Mexico will be drawn into the Eastern parts of SoCal. This will bring a chance for Thunderstorms and or showers to the Eastern Deserts and local mountain areas. Clouds will increase late this morning through the afternoon, and into the night with increasing chances for showers overnight tonight. The storms that do develop locally will be quick moving so the chances for Flash Flooding will be minimal. However, with these type of systems, caution is advised, as things can rapidly change. Rainfall estimates for our area are running from .05-.50″ locally. So as you can see the rainfall is expected to be spotty. By early Thursday morning, light rain showers could move into the Valley as well.
..Then for Thursday afternoon, all of this will rapidly move out as the Cut-Off Low will be picked up by the Jet Stream and heads out to the East.
..A weak and quick moving Ridge will move over SoCal for a brief period Friday before another stronger and deepening Trough moves over SoCal for the weekend. While the chances for rain from this system is minimal for the Weeknd, Fog and clouds will be possible to the 5500′ level as well as morning drizzle, will be possible along with wet roads on the Rim and the local HWYs.
..Temperatures will be much cooler beginning Saturday, lasting through Tuesday, before a warm up arrives for the rest of the work week ahead.
..AS ALWAYS, I will be posting live RADAR and Lightning reports as needed for our local area on my FB page, Lake Gregory Weather Group, throughout the period.
..That’s it for now! Have a good day and enjoy the changing season. *RC
