TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning. Happy Birthday, Ryan! Welcome to the first full day of Fall!
Trends: Warm then cooling. Then possible RED FLAG WARNING for Monday-pm through Tuesday-am.
..There will be several changes in our weather over the next seven days.
First, an area of Low pressure is sliding south along the Sierras this morning. This will bring an increase in the low level moisture along with a SW wind this morning. Temperatures today will be a few degrees cooler than what we had on Sunday. Gusty SW winds will develop this morning as the area of Low pressure passes just East of here.
..Then late this afternoon or early tomorrow morning, the area of Low pressure will become a cut off Low and sit over Northern Baja California. This will change the winds to the NE as we will be on the back side of the circulation of the Low. Humidity levels will be low and the winds will be gusty for most of Tuesday. A RED FLAG WARNING will likely be in effect for that time period due to the possibility of critical fire danger for the local area.
..Wednesday another change will take place. Remnant Tropical moisture will become entrained in the circulation around the Low and move into the lower Deserts and the San Bernardino mountains. This will bring in clouds and a chance for a shower or light rain Wednesday through Thursday night, or early Friday morning.
..Friday the Cut Off Low will move East as it will reconnect with the Jet Stream and move on.
..But there’s more, A deep Trough of Low pressure will move in from the Pacific Saturday, bringing in very cool temperatures to the area. It doesn’t look like we will see any moisture from this system other than a deeper Marine layer, but it’s still a long way out and things will change between now and then.
..That’s it for now! Have a good day and enjoy the changing season. *RC
