TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:
Good Morning.
Trends: Warm then cooling. Then possible RED FLAG WARNING for Monday-pm through Tuesday-am.
..For today we will have another day similar to yesterday with temperatures in the upper 70s between 4500-6500′, above that temps will be in the mid to upper 60s.
.. As we close out Summer and welcome Autumn, officially at 12:50am Monday, change will be in the air.
..Today High clouds will pass through in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Light and variable winds and warm temps will make for a nice end to the Summer Season. Tomorrow, things will begin to change as an upper area of Low pressure moves through the region. This area of Low pressure will cut off becoming a cut-off low centered over NW Mexico. This is when we will see a change begin to take shape.
..First, we will have a fairly strong NE-WIND event as the winds around the deepening Low, push through the area. Humidity levels will be in the teens or less for a short period so a RED FLAG FIRE WARNING will be likely for a short time Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.
..Then the moisture levels will increase as Tropical Moisture gets wrapped into the flow. There will be a slight chance for a shower Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
..Thursday, another deeper Long wave Trough will move into the West Coast. This will bring in cooler temperatures, a deeper Marine layer, and a chance for drizzle and or maybe even a chance for rain across the local area through Saturday. As that system passes, we could see strong NE Winds return along with cold air advection from the Great Basin into our area for the weekend. So as you can see, change is in the air.
