Today’s lakegregoryweather.com
Forecast for Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains.
Good Morning.
This mornings surface pressure is running slightly onshore across the area. However some areas are seeing a NE breeze this morning due to a weak wave passing through the long wave trough, locally. A long wave Trough extending from Central Canada, to off of the NorCal Coast, will remain pretty much stationary through the week ahead. We will see a couple of short waves pass through the area over the next few days. Also an area of High pressure centered South and East of California will also remain mostly stationary. So the end result will be a static weather pattern through the next five days. Temperatures will be a little cooler today and Sunday with gusty SW winds likely from 10-25mph in the wind prone areas. For Monday and Tuesday, the area of High pressure to our Southeast will extend West over SoCal and we will warm up a few degrees as a result. Then another weak wave will arrive for Wednesday through Friday bringing a return of cooler temperatures. So basically, we will be in the middle of two different pressure zones that will push back and forth through the next several days. Now for the long range “Crystal Ball” outlook, The 20th we may see an increase in moisture locally with an increase in the Marine layer, and maybe some drizzle, as another weak trough passes through the area. Then on the 30th, the long range models are favoring a Tropical system moving North along the West Coast from Mexico. This will bring a chance for rain possibly heavy for the Southeastern portion of SoCal. This is something I will be watching in the coming days. Meanwhile, Florence is taking her sweet time moving through the Carolinas. Today South Carolina will likely be the target of the most rain and flooding. Monday, Florence should get picked up by the upper level flow, and move out to the North and East. Keep the people of the East Coast in your thoughts. RC
Video updates on Florence will be posted at the bottom of this page as well as an EL NINO update on the “FIRE WX/EL-NINO”, PAGE of the website, lakegregoryweather.com
Have a good day! RC
