Ron Chalfant

JULY-29-18 Sunday
For today, temperatures will be cooler with highs in the 80-86* range for the Crestline and Lake Arrowhead areas. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 60s.
Big Bear, Running Springs, and GVL will have highs in the upper 70s to low 80s today and overnight lows in the mid to upper 50s to low 60s.
All areas will have possible Thunderstorms this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. Big Bear will have a 50% chance each day through Tuesday and 30% Wednesday. Light and variable winds can be expected except in areas where T-Storms develop where strong gusty winds will occur.
The area of High pressure over the West will slowly weaken and move a little North East in the coming days. Temperatures will be closer to normal for this time of year for the next five to seven days.
As for the Fire Danger level today, VERY HIGH to EXTREME in some areas. So please be careful! the fires to our North in Redding and the Lake Shasta area have been especially devastating. Hundreds of homes have burned, and sadly another Dozer operator has been killed fighting that fire, along with a Fireman, and a Grandmother with two grandchildren. Prayers for their families.
