TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
..Today we have cloudy skies and light rain in the Big Bear area.
..Yesterday’s storms brought brief heavy showers to some areas mostly over the Eastern side of the mountains. There were lots of Lightning strikes and one confirmed lightning strike fire on Onyx Summit. I had heard from local sources of several other non confirmed reports of Lightning strikes causing smoldering spots but no additional fires reported.
However, the rain that accompanied the storms doused any hot spots there.
..Today we will have periods of clouds and a continued chance for Thunderstorms across the Mountains, Deserts and possibly in the Riverside and Lake Elsinore areas as well. The reason I mentioned Lake Elsinore, is that’s where we typically get Thunderstorms from in the Crestline and Lake Arrowhead areas as they migrate in a more Northerly direction. Anyway, This morning we will have a chance for a light rain shower as the current ban of clouds moves through the area. Currently, there are some storms building to our East that will be worth watching today as the day wears on.
..The area of High pressure that has been over the Four Corners States for the last few days will move toward SoCal for the weekend. This should bring in drier air, less chances for T-Storms to the mountains, and warmer temperatures through Monday.
..That’s it for now. Be sure to check on my Facebook page “Lake Gregory Weather Group” for ongoing storm updates including local Radar, as needed. *RC

..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.

..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for the Latest on El Nino, live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake.
