Forecast for Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains.
Good Morning.
We’ve got a busy Forecast for the next 5-7 days ahead.
Today, there will be High clouds as outflow from overnight Thunderstorms at the CA, NEV border move across the SoCal Mountains. Additionally, there will be an uptick in Monsoonal Moisture today as an area of Low pressure sits off of the CA Coast, and High pressure sits over AZ. We will be in the middle of these two pressure zones which will draw Monsoonal Moisture across the Inland and Mountain areas of SoCal today. Therefore, today we will have a good chance (25-40%) to see T-storm activity somewhere this afternoon mainly in the Desert, Mountain, and possibly parts of the Inland Valleys. PWAT levels are not terribly high, however rain can turn heavy at times as T-Storms can draw their own moisture into the MCS.
Temperatures today will remain as they have been with highs in the Low to Mid 80s across the area. Tomorrow we will begin to see the effects of an expanding area of High pressure to our East, expanding West, as temperatures begin to rise. Monday through Thursday the NWS has issued a Excessive Heat Warning for all of SoCal. Temperatures locally will peak Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s locally. The possibility of Thunderstorms will decrease in the days ahead as heat builds, and Monsoon-Moisture decreases over SoCal.
Next Friday through next weekend, we should see a cooling trend along with the return of higher Moisture levels and the return of more T-Storm activity once again. The FIRE DANGER levels will increase from Tuesday through Friday so please be careful with any outdoor BBQ’s or fire pits. RC
