TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:
Good Morning.
So this morning before I had a chance to have my coffee, Mother Nature decided to shake things up a little with a 4.7 quake at 6:11am. Just in case you felt it.
..Today there will be a few changes in our local weather. We should see a few cumulus clouds develop to the North and East of Crestline and Arrowhead. Upper level Moisture will filter into the area above the 700mb to the 400mb level or 10k’-20k’ level. Monsoonal Moisture will wrap around the High now centered over New Mexico and Colorado moving into the Eastern Deserts and the Colorado River region. Thunderstorms will be possible for the lower Deserts, Havasu, and Arizona today through Monday. Locally, Big Bear may see some dry Lightning strikes this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon but the moisture will be minimal so there will be very little chance for rain to accompany any storms that do develop locally. Afternoon winds will continue through the next several days as the Deserts heat and cool causing the afternoon winds. A HEAT ADVISORY will be in effect for the San Bernardino area from 10am today through Monday at 8pm.
..Temperatures across the mountain today through Monday will remain in the mid to upper 80s and maybe a few of the warmer areas may hit the low 90s. High pressure will remain steady through Monday, then begin to break down which will bring a slow cooling trend to the SoCal area through Thursday.
..The marine layer has receded back to the Coast with a very slim fog belt right along the water and shoreline.
..The increased Heat will raise the Fire Danger levels for the next four days however the fuel moisture is still pretty good for this time of year. As always, be careful with any type of outdoor fire and make sure your outdoor pets have plenty of shade and water.
