TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
This morning, as expected, we have a North East wind as yesterday’s Trough of Low pressure moves East. Currently the center of the Trough is located in Utah and Western Colorado. We are on the back side of the circulation which is why we have a NE flow across the region.
..The Northeast winds will subside by late this morning and become light with a few gusts to 10mph this afternoon. Most of the wind is along the Ridges this morning as Playground drive’s weather station, courtesy of AirSites2000.com, is reporting NE winds to 23mph. All other stations have winds below 5mph so far this morning.
..Temperatures today and through the weekend will warm as High pressure tries to build into the West from over the Pacific. The Marine layer will weaken as well, with Coastal fog continuing, but not as deep for the Inland areas. This morning the Marine layer was about 3500-4000′ thick as of 6am but is slowly being pushed back to the lower elevations as the NE winds, and drier air from the Interior West mix with the Marine air.
..Monday should be our warmest day of the next five as the Heights over the area peak. Then another Trough will move into the Pac-NW bringing in cooler air again. However, an area of High pressure over Mainland Mexico and Northern Baja will intervene stopping the Southward progression of the trough into SoCal. So here in SoCal we will be somewhere in the middle of the two air masses. As these systems develop in the coming days we will get a better idea of what to expect. Have a good day and weekend. ..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.

..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for the Latest on El Nino, live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake.
