Forecast for Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains:
Good Morning.
This morning at round 5am, thick fog blanketed the area from Rim Forest on HWY 18 to lower Waterman canyon. Since then, the thick Fog has backed off some to around the Crestline bridge as of 7am.
The Lake Gregory/HWY 18 webcam now shows light fog. A trough will pass through in a couple hours, around noon. Once that passes, the Marine layer will retreat toward the Coast with less morning fog in the local IE area through the weekend. We will be on the Northern tip of a Sub Tropical Jet that will help to bring in much warmer temperatures beginning tomorrow.
By Sunday and Monday, Summer will be in full swing with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s locally. The Valley will see highs in from 90* to 95* or higher for the same time frame. Friday morning, a wind change to the NNE will help to dry the air mass also helping temperatures to soar. At the upper levels, an upper level area of Low pressure will develop to our South late Friday. Then it will move Inland across Baja CA, moving up into Arizona by Sunday. This will help the air flow to turn from the North, to the North East, for Friday and Saturday.
Sunday looks like the warmest day locally. Then by Sunday afternoon, the wind flow will return to the South West. That will help to bring a cooling trend to the local area beginning Monday.
