Forecast for Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains:
Good Morning.

Fog has returned to the IE this morning. Currently as of 5am, the depth of the fog layer is from the ~2000′-4000′ level. So plan a little extra time if you are driving down the hill this morning.
Across the area above the ~4500′ level, clear skies can be expected for the morning. The marine layer has deepened overnight due to a Catalina Eddy that has developed just offshore as well as a weak trough of Low pressure that will pass through by tomorrow evening. So expect to have another foggy commute Thursday morning with a little deeper Marine layer.

Temperatures will be much cooler today and Thursday with highs expected to be in the mid to upper 60s today, and in the upper 50s to low 60s, Thursday. Overnight lows will dip into the mid 40s for the Crestline and Lake Arrowhead areas, and for the Big Bear, Running Springs, and the surrounding area there, overnight lows will be in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Skies above the 5500′ level will remain mostly clear today. Gusty winds can be expected across the area beginning later this afternoon as a surface pressure gradient of 10mbs plus, develops from the San Diego area to the Desert. Friday and for the weekend, a big warm up will bring in temperatures to the 70s and low 80s by Sunday.

This pattern of transitory Highs and Lows will continue to bring a variety of weather to all of SoCal through the next week. Fog and low clouds will move into the IE for a couple days then retreat back to the Coast. Then return as another weak Low pressure system moves through the flow. No measureable rain is expected for the next seven days. Yesterday there was a weak chance for Thunderstorms but only high based clouds developed with no reports of storm activity locally.
That’s it for today. Thanks for joining me @ lakegregoryweather.com
