TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:
Good Morning.
..Spring has sprung starting today! Or it least it will look like it for a few days. The area of Low pressure that brought a variety of weather to all of SoCal has moved toward the Midwest and will make a mess weather wise for them.
..For the SoCal area, a Ridge of High pressure will move over the West bringing warmer temperatures and clear skies. This mornings pressure readings from Tonopah to San Diego show a mild onshore flow. However, as High pressure builds into the Great Basin to around 1030mbs over the next couple of days, offshore flow will develop with gusty winds below the passes and in the canyons locally.
..Temperatures will warm to above normal for all of SoCal as High pressure builds in. This will be a nice break from the constant clouds and rain/snow we have had for most of the last month.
..This pattern will last through mid week next week before we possibly revert back to more wet weather.
..On the longer range outlook, there are a couple of systems showing for the last two weeks of March. One thing to remember is, March storms are fickle, and their dynamics can and do change rapidly, so don’t get in too big of a hurry to get those Winter items put away during this period of warm weather.
..Yesterday’s storm brought from 3-6″ of snow to the lake Arrowhead area, and 6-12″ for the Big Bear, Running Springs and Arrowbear areas. Twin Peaks had around 2-5″ and Crestline had none.
..Also, thank you to those of you who have donated to this website as that really helps offset the costs of running the website and its associated subscription fees, equipment maintenance, and tech fees.
