Good Morning. Happy Birthday to my
Brother Ken. Happy Valentines Day to all!
..I’m not sure if we need an Ark or a Big Snow Blower.
..The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch for our area through this evening. A Wind Advisory is also in effect through Saturday @ 4am for our area.
..Today we will have rain, heavy at times, as a strong AR moves across the SoCal region. Rain rates will approach .75-1.00″ pr/hr at times today. Flooding, debris flow, strong gusty winds, and Fog, will make for an interesting day around the mountain…
… Rainfall amounts today will run from 4-8″ locally with some upslope areas due to orographic lift could see upwards of 10″ of rain today. A cold Front that is pushing south will arrive here by late this afternoon or tonight. Currently the snow level is running around the 8000′ level but will drop quickly to around the 5500-6000′ level when the cold Front arrives. Rain today will accompanied by a chance for a Thunderstorm this afternoon as the cold air arrives. This is when the snow levels will lower. Big Bear, Green Valley Lake, Running Springs, and Arrowbear could all see snow as the end of this AR system moves out and the cold Front arrives.
..Friday, we will have partly cloudy skies with snow showers likely for most areas. Accumulations of 1-3″ will be possible above the 5000′ level. This is from a weak wave that will pass through during the day.
..Saturday, another weak wave will pass through bringing another chance for snow showers to the area. Cold air will bring daytime highs in the 30’s to low 40s across the area.
..Sunday will be more of the same with another chance for snow showers to around the 3500′ level in the afternoon through Monday morning. Then it looks like a couple of mostly clear days before another system arrives later in the week.
..If you wanted a busy Winter, then you got your wish this year! Enjoy! RC
