Weather Report 11/9/18

Today’s Forecast for Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains.
Good Morning.
Critical fire weather conditions through midday in the mountains and
foothill areas. A Red Flag Warning is in effect through this evening
due to Santa Ana winds 25 to 35 MPH with areas of 35 to 45 MPH, and
peak gusts 55 to 65 MPH in offshore, wind-prone spots through and
below canyons, passes and grades, coupled with single digit
humidity.

High resolution models and surface pressure gradient field support
strong winds continuing this morning, then subsiding in the late
afternoon. RH will remain quite low with poor recovery overnight.

Very dry conditions, but with lighter offshore winds will continue
into Saturday. This will be followed by another moderate-to-strong
Santa Ana Sunday and Monday, and another critical period of fire
weather potential. The pattern will be a little more favorable for
stronger winds in Riverside and San Diego Counties, but all areas
will receive considerable wind and Red Flag Warnings will likely be
needed. Weak to occasionally moderate strength Santa Ana conditions
will continue much of next week.
That’s it for now. Thank you for joining me @ lakegregoryweather.com.
