TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:
Good Morning.
…Today we will start the week out with mostly clear skies except for some high clouds and mild temperatures. Today should be the warmest day of the next seven.
…A cooling trend will begin tomorrow as a pattern change begins to take shape across the West.
…Tuesday and Wednesday increasing High clouds with a strengthening onshore flow, will help to bring a Marine layer Inland Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. No fog is expected at that time for the mountain areas.
…Wednesday the first of a series of systems will begin to affect the region. Rain/Wind and Fog will be likely Wednesday evening through Thursday morning with a chance for a Thunderstorm locally, as a compact Cold Core area of Low pressure passes over SoCal Thursday morning. Snow levels will be above the 5500′ level except during any Thunderstorms that do develop. Then we could see snow showers to the ~4500′ level….
… Accumulations are looking like possibly 2-4″ for the Big Bear, Green Valley Lake, Running Springs and Arrowbear. Below Running Springs 0-2″ will be possible..
Friday we should be partly cloudy as another system heads our way for Saturday and Sunday.
…This system for the Weekend looks colder and wetter, so lower snow levels are expected with greater amounts of snow/rain across the area. More on that tomorrow.
…On the longer range outlook another system is looking like a possibility for next Monday/Tuesday as well. Then a break from the stormy weather.RC
