VIDEO REPORT: Fire Crews Quickly Extinguish Half Acre “Blue Fire” in Blue Jay

At 4:06 pm, multiple calls went into 911 dispatch reporting a fire behind the Rite Aid in Blue Jay. Initial confusion was caused when multiple callers reported multiple locations based on different vantage points dubbed the “Blue Fire”, but within minutes emergency crews were able to find the fire and get working on it right away.

Aircraft also made an appearance at the fire with two phos-chek drops and two water drops from BLM Helicopter 554. the planes were dispatched out of San Bernardino airport and the helicopter was dipping out of Grass Valley Lake.

There were no injuries reported during this fire and the cause is still under investigation.
