At 6:58pm on Tuesday, a traffic accident with injuries was reported on Arrowbear Drive at Ridge Drive in Arrowbear Lake. The California Highway Patrol (CHP), Running Springs Fire Department (RSFD), and California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection (CalFIRE) arrived on-scene to find a white Lexus SUV rolled over on its roof. The lone occupant was out of the vehicle and appeared uninjured.

According to a statement made by the driver to the CHP, the Lexus was traveling south on Arrowbear Drive, and as he approached Ridge Drive, the driver hit a pothole causing him to lose control of his vehicle. The Lexus left the roadway, drove up a short retaining wall, struck a tree, and rolled over onto its roof. The force of the impact cracked the tree.

The driver refused medical treatment. Arrowbear Drive was temporarily blocked until a tow truck was able to roll the Lexus back over and tow it away. Southern California Edison was called to evaluate the integrity of the tree as it was near their powerlines. CHP is investigating the accident.
