Just before noon, the California Highway Patrol received reports of a single vehicle accident on Highway 18 below Upper Waterman Canyon Road.
Medic Engine 25 from San Bernardino County Fire and two CHP units we on scene shortly after the accident. The driver was not injured and traffic was only slightly affected.
The driver stated that he lost control and struck the guardrail, then veered into the mountain.
The cause of the accident is under investigation at this time. Road conditions and speed are being considered as factors in the accident.
