A little after 10:00 pm on August 2nd, emergency units responded to reports of a traffic collision along Highway 18. One of the responding units, however, witnessed another traffic collision on Lake Gregory Drive at the Basil Court cross street.
The silver SUV had collided head-on into a tree at the Basil Court turn. The young driver was uninjured, albeit a tad shaken. There were no other passengers were in the vehicle.
The impact inflicted heavy damage to the front of the vehicle, causing both the upper and lower airbags to deploy. According to the Fire Captain on scene, the driver had not disclosed what caused the vehicle to veer from the road. The crash is under investigation.
