At 1:26 p.m. San Bernardino County Fire and Cal Fire responded to reports of a vegetation fire in Crestline near the stop light on Highway 18.
San Bernardino County Fire Brush Engine 26 arrived on scene first and immediately extinguished burning debris on the side of Highway 18 just east of the stoplight.
Battalion chief Bob Evans from San Bernardino County Fire was on scene and advised that the cause of the fire is under investigation and undetermined at this point.
Fire crews are able to completely extinguish the fire with shovels, and a fire extinguisher. Traffic was mildly impacted on Highway 189 during the firefight.
As of 1:55 p.m. the fire was extinguished and the roadway was clear.
