US Forest Service Issues Tick Warning for the SB Mountains

From a US Forest Service Press Release:

Visitors beware! After this winter’s rains, we’re seeing an influx of ticks throughout the forest. If you are planning on spending time outdoors, remember to dress appropriately, use insect repellent and check for ticks after each hike. Ticks are typically found in areas where there is grass, shrubs and leaf litter. They do not jump onto hosts (hikers, dogs, wildlife), instead they will crawl onto vegetation and will wait for a host to brush past so they can latch on. If you find a tick on yourself, remove it with tweezers.
