On Thursday, June 13th at approximately 12:22 pm, a two vehicle traffic collison was reported in the City of Big Bear Lake. The location given to emergency dispatchers was the corner of Fox Farm Road and Big Bear Boulevard.
Medics from the Big Bear Fire Department arrived on scene to find one patient in the Subaru. She was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital due to injuries sustained during the accident.
According to statements from witnesses at the scene, a brown Chevy Silverado reportedly ran a red light and “t-boned” the blue Subaru, sending it spinning due to the force of the collision. The vehicle came to rest in the middle of the intersection. The Chevy Silverado was heavily damaged on the front end and the Subaru took the brunt of the hit on the driver side rear door and rear suspension.
The exact nature of the woman’s injuries and her condition is unknown at this time. San Bernardino Sheriff Deputies provided traffic control until tow trucks from A&D Towing arrived. This accident happened in Sheriff jurisdiction and they are performing the accident investigation. An official cause for the crash has not been released yet but according to information gained at the scene, it appears that failure to yield may have been a factor.
