Two Vehicle Accident Blocks Traffic at 173 and North Bay Road in Lake Arrowhead

Just after 11:45 p.m. on Friday, August 18th, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene of a two vehicle injury accident blocking the intersection of North Bay Road and 173.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. Both vehicles were rendered undriveable after the Collision due to significant body damage.

Minor injuries were reported in both vehicles.

The accident blocked the intersection for over an hour, CHP was on extended ETA due to heavy call volume on the mountain and an earlier accident with a long recovery time. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department and Medic Engine 92 from San Bernardino County Fire had the intersection completely blocked off awaiting CHP’s arrival during the extended response.

Once the highway patrol arrived they used the push bumper on the front of their unit to push the vehicles out of the intersection to the side of the road. Then they picked up all the car parts and the intersection was opened to through traffic.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
