At 5:44 pm, a call went in to the CHP from a call box on Highway 38 at mile marker 29.30 reporting a vehicle rollover with a trailer and golf cart.

Medic Engine 283 and Medic Ambulance 282 along with county fire units from station 98 responded to the call. Arriving on scene they found a white Dodge Ram blocking traffic that was towing a trailer with a golf cart that had disconnected after flipping over. The solo occupant declined medical treatment at the scene.

The California Highway Patrol conducted a field sobriety test on the driver, afterwhich he was taken into custody. The exact cause of the roll over accident is under investigation at this time. The CHP stated that alcohol and speed were contributing factors in this accident. Highway 38 was shut down for a short period while A Performance Towing recovered the vehicles.
