On Monday, June 24, 2019 at approximately 12:44 p.m., a large SUV was headed northbound on the 330. As the driver neared the Running Springs exit, the SUV swerved into the opposing lane of traffic and struck a tree.

The driver managed to extricate themselves from the vehicle and sustained no life-threatening injuries. California Highway Patrol and CalFire were quick to arrive at the scene and remove the damaged vehicle. Both CHP and CalFire were efficient in directing traffic, as well as removing debris from the area, and quickly reopened the flow of traffic on the 330.

When asked for a statement at the scene, a fire fighter asked drivers to, “Please slow down. We are here to save your lives, don’t take ours.”
