Just before 11:00 am on Sunday, CHP and San Bernardino County Fire units were dispatched to the Crestline Bridge on Highway 18. 911 dispatch had received reports of a solo motorcycle accident near the intersection on 138 and 18. Medic Engine 25 and Medic Ambulance 25 searched the area including the section of Highway 18 known as “The Narrows”. Upon further investigation, the accident scene was finally located near a local landmark on Highway 18 referred to as “Panorama Point,” which is located approximately 2 miles south of the Crestline Bridge.

Upon arrival, responders found one patient suffering from undislosed injuries. Traffic had been partially blocked, but the roadway was cleared by CHP units. Fire crews directed traffic for a short time while the patient was treated and finally transported to a local area trauma center.

Mountain Auto Service was dispatched to the scene by CHP to remove the crashed motorcycle. This accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol but initial reports indicated “reflectors in the road” were allegedly to blame. The extent of the rider’s injuries are unknown at this time.
